Opened in May 2017, Storyhouse is a library, theatre and cinema and had one million visits in its first year. The organisation also houses a highly successful theatre company which has gained national acclaim for its home-produced new stage adaptations.

The Chester Philharmonic Orchestra, founded in 1884, is one of the premier non-professional orchestras in North West England. The orchestra, originally known as the Chester Orchestral Society, has a large playing membership enabling it to perform most pieces within the symphonic repertoire.
Chester Music Society has been engaged in the promotion and performance of live classical music in Chester since 1946. The Society comprises three sections: Celebrity Concerts; Showcase Concerts and Choir. They present more than 20 concerts and musical events in Chester each year.
The Live Rooms is Chester’s newest and largest independent live music venue. The main room has hosted some of the biggest names in music from a diverse range of genres, whilst the side room provides an ideal space for smaller, more intimate shows.
The Chester Little Theatre is Chester’s longest running theatre. They were formed in 1944 and the present venue in Gloucester Street was bought by the Members in 1962. The Theatre is entirely self-supporting and run by its members.
Cineworld is the second-largest cinema operator in the UK with over 80 cinemas and over 800 screens. It also offers a subscription service - the "Unlimited Card" - which provides members with unlimited entrance for a set price per month.
Vue Entertainment is one of the UK’s leading cinema developers and operators of multiplex cinemas in the UK. The Vue brand and company was launched onto the UK market in 2003 with 38 cinemas. Since then, Vue’s UK and Ireland circuit has grown to 80 cinemas with 755 screens.
