Manchester is well connected by Road Transport. There are two coach operators competing for business which have greatly reduced fares between Manchester and London. Local bus users have a choice between Stagecoach and First Group who operate a near monopoly in the city.
There's also a free Metroshuttle bus service which links the main railway stations, car parks, shopping areas and businesses in Manchester city centre
There are two bus interchanges in Manchester at Piccadilly Gardens and Shudehill. Local and country buses terminate here or stop on the streets outside. National Express have their own coach station on Chorlton Street while Megabus services use Shudehill Interchange. As well as coaches and buses, Manchester is awash with taxis and it's only late on a Saturday night that you might find it difficult flagging one down. There are though plenty of private hire cab firms that you can call instead.
There is a good bus service in Manchester during the night with several routes operating 24 hours including the service to Manchester Airport.
