Cardiff is well connected by Road Transport. There are three coach operators competing for business which have greatly reduced fares between Cardiff, Bristol and London. Local bus users aren't so lucky with Cardiff Bus found to have "abused its dominant position".
The terminus for most coaches in Cardiff use to be the central bus station, next to the railway station, but this has now been closed without a replacement. All National Express coaches now operate from Sophia Gardens whilst Megabus coach stops in Cardiff are Kingsway - opposite City Hall - and Cardiff University - outside Cathays railway station on Park Place. Bus services out of the city, including Stagecoach services, and local Cardiff Bus services now depart from different locations scattered throughout the city centre. As well as coaches and buses, Cardiff is awash with taxis and it's only late on a Saturday night that you might find it difficult flagging one down. There are though plenty of private hire cab firms that you can call instead.
