Chester has a compact shopping centre which includes the historic Rows full of character. We also include historic arcades, city markets, major stores and unique independent shops.
For a bite to eat during the day, Chester has plenty of unique cafés hidden away throughout the city centre. There are also plenty of chain coffee shops on the main streets but at the moment we only list the popular independent ones here.
Home to the world famous Chester Racecourse, the city is a centre of leisure and relaxation. Alternatively, there's rugby and football to watch or boats to hire on the River Dee.
