Liverpool Football Club is one of two Premier League football clubs in the city and have played at Anfield since 1892. It was not until 1894 that the club adopted the city's colour of red.
Liverpool established itself as a major force in English and European football in the 1970s and 1980s when Bill Shankly and Bob Paisley led the club to 11 League titles and seven European trophies.
