A Queensway (Birkenhead) Tunnel Tour takes you on a unique behind the scenes look at one of the famous Mersey Tunnels.

As well as learning about the construction of the tunnel, visiting the control room and walking under the road surface, you will be able to find out why the tunnels are so unique that they have featured in several Hollywood movies!

Tours start at Georges Dock Building, an art deco masterpiece and the former head office of Mersey Tunnels. Georges Dock Building is a working building and you should be aware that your clothes may get slightly dirty, and areas within the Tunnel can get quite cold so please dress appropriately and wear shoes suitable for walking.

No easily accessible wifi. No smoking.

Opening Times:

Tours take place on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday (5pm) and Saturday (10am) all year round. Tours start at Georges Dock Building and cost £8.80 per person - available to people aged 10 and above. You must book your tour in advance.

Location:

Located to the west of the city centre on the waterfront, off the Goree/Mann Island and next to the Port Of Liverpool Building.

Getting There:

National Rail Liverpool James Street railway station: Five minutes walk.
National Rail Liverpool Lime Street railway station: 20 minutes walk.
