The Wirral Transport Museum has a broad selection of vintage and classic vehicles, including trams, buses, cars, motorbikes and push bikes. It also includes a 26 feet long model railway layout and a reconstructed 1930s garage scene.
There are also views of ongoing projects in the museum's workshops - chiefly the restoration of a Liverpool 'Green Goddess' tram belonging to National Museums Liverpool.
Free Entry, Light Refreshments Available.
No easily accessible wifi. No smoking.
Open 1pm-5pm Saturday and Sunday (plus other dates during the summer - please check the website for any late changes). Free admission.
Advance booking is not required.
Located west of Liverpool across the River Mersey in Birkenhead, on the corner of Taylor Street and George Street.
Birkenhead Hamilton Square railway station: Ten minutes walk.
Parking available nearby - payment required.
